Case Tracking and Review  

The Constitution of Islamic Republic of Afghanistan states that the Office of the Attorney General has responsibility for undertaking prosecutorial investigation. 

The High Office is however tasked to oversee corruption related cases and to ensure that due legal processes are not corrupted.  This unit monitors progress of legal cases related to corruption in the appropriate law enforcement agencies and to ensure that necessary and timely action is being taken in those institutions.

As necessary, the Case Tracking Unit, through advising the Leadership of the HoO, ensures that problems related to corruption cases can be raised by the Leadership of the High Office with the senior most levels of Government and the judicial processes should the need arise. The Case Tracking Unit operates as a largely discreet unit, effectively linking mostly with the Leadership of the Office.
